What is Procrastination?

Procrastination is due to a lack of sufficient self-control.
(Shatz, 2018)

Procrastinators are not lazy.
They only need to understand their reasoning behind procrastination in order to manage it better.
(Tala, 2016)

Procrastination is natural especially if it's on an important yet difficult task. However, it also helps you manage the tasks better as you've been subconsciously collecting ideas & processing how to complete them.

Our Research

Procrast-Innate: Behavioral Patterns and Procrastination Tendencies of Arts and Design Students During Online Classes

The COVID-19 lockdown has led schools' transition from traditional learning to remote learning, creating a shift in learning behaviors of the students. With that, the researchers conducted a study to understand and describe behavioral patterns of students that have influenced their procrastination habits during the pandemic.

Survey questionnaire and online interview was conducted from various art schools in Metro Manila to assess each student's point of view about procrastination and how or why they have led to procrastination. Turns out, participants delay tasks further when deadlines seem incomprehensible and unrealistic. Participants also expressed the lack of social interaction as the pandemic has affected their mental well-being, causing their ability to do tasks properly. However, they have also overcome it by coming up with strategies such as rewarding themselves, planning ahead and taking breaks.
